About this event

The Greater Toronto Kurdish House (GTKH) serves as an inclusive umbrella organization and a critical cultural hub for the vibrant Kurdish diaspora living across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions. Established to build a resilient "home away from home," GTKH actively promotes kinship, social cohesion, and community identity among local Kurds, welcoming all individuals regardless of their political, religious, or regional backgrounds. As a dedicated non-profit organization, the Greater Toronto Kurdish House operates through a multi-faceted mission focused on diplomatic, cultural, and essential humanitarian work. The organization provides pivotal support systems for newcomers integrating into Canadian society while simultaneously driving cultural preservation. This is achieved by hosting commemorative national events, running educational programs, and staging prominent public celebrations—most notably the marquee Annual Kurdish Heritage Festival held at Mel Lastman Square. Through active civic engagement, cross-cultural exchange, and collaboration with broader Canadian ethnic communities, GTKH proudly celebrates the unique beauty of Kurdish music, dance, attire, and cuisine while championing diversity, human rights, and inclusion nationwide.
